The World Council of Churches (WCC) is a fellowship of churches founded in 1948. The fellowship includes 356 member churches from every region of the world, including Anglican, Baptist, Independent, Lutheran, Methodist, Orthodox, Pentecostal, Reformed, United and other churches.
The WCC promotes Christian unity in faith, witness and service for a just and peaceful world. The programmes and activities of the WCC are coordinated from the Ecumenical Centre in Geneva, Switzerland.
The WCC is seeking a Communication Project Assistant at 75% (6 months) to coordinate the Visitors’ Programme at the Ecumenical Centre by planning, organising, and hosting tailored visits. In addition, the role supports the work of the Communication Team by contributing to project communication, content, planning, administration and reporting.
STARTING DATE: 1 April 2026
DURATION: 6 months

REPORTS TO: Director of Communications
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
· Coordinate the WCC Visitors’ Programme:
> Plan the visit with logistics in coordination with the visitors, the director of Communications and the WCC staff involved
> Prepare programmes for the visitors
> Hosting the visit at the Ecumenical center
> Report on the visits
> Coverage of the visits – including photography
· Cooperate in general administration of all matters and correspondence related to the work of the projects related to Communications, according to needs.
· Cooperate in the organization (administrative and logistical tasks) of meetings and conferences in relation to the WCC Communication events.
· Assist the WCC publications with administration, marketing and promotion and the communication officers with general communication tasks.
· Support the WCC by organizing visits and events.
· Maintain and update address lists for the database.
· Cooperate in the maintenance of ecumenical memory (organizing, filing and archiving information).
· Participate in the Communication meetings and contribute to the overall work of the Communication, also undertaking other duties as determined by the director of communication.
· Support the monitoring of the WCC public email boxes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
- Studies in Communication or related field.
- 3–4 years of experience in Communication, Marketing or Events.
Skills & Competencies
· Excellent communication and organization skills.
· Fluency in the French and English languages.
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 environment (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint…).
· Highly organized with the ability to prioritize.
· Write in a concise manner and provide editorial assistance as applicable.
· Communicate in a comfortable manner through social media tools.
· Take initiative and work both autonomously and collaboratively in a flexible and collegial way, with respect to confessional, cultural and gender diversity.
· Quality of discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
